Training from Applus RTD - Working at Height with Rescue Training

Course content
To allow delegates the opportunity to apply the knowledge of correct working ayt height to typical locations. The applications will ideally be tailored to those typically encountered by the delegates in their work situation, but to ensure a good depth of knowledge they will also include common applications.
Also enable the delegates to carry out a rescue using pre-selected rescue kit. The kit will be chosen to suit the client’s situation. The delegates will also be given knowledge of alternative types of rescue equipment.
Course Elements
- Correct fitting and adjustment of fall arrest harnesses by all delegates
- Ladder ascent and descent using temporary systems
- The use of fall arrest lanyards
- The use horizontal safety lines
- The use of double fall arrest lanyards
- The use of work positioning belts
- The importance of personal safety whilst carrying out a rescue
- The importance of casualty management
- The use of a self-locking descender to abseil
- The use of a rescue kit containing a self-locking descender to access a casualty and evacuate them down safety
- The use of a rescue kit with raising and lowering capability
- Raising a casualty back to safety
- Lowering a casualty down to safety
